Henry Wirawan, S.Kom (UPH Medan Campus Alumni, 2019) who is the co-founder and also served as CMO (Chief Marketing Officer) at Topremit, one of the most popular fintech startup applications which can be a solution for people to send money efficiently across countries. His hard work with the team is recognized and has resulted in one of them through the award won in 2019 as “Best Money Transfer Provider” from Bank Indonesia. He admitted that ‘Topremit’ was originally founded as a company that only provides offline services. However, as a graduate in technology, Henry saw opportunities to utilize digital technology and developed his business into an online-based service. With this online system, Henry offers the convenience of unlimited time and real-time tracking features. What Henry did was inseparable from the provision of education in Information System study program at UPH. He acknowledge that UPH is not only provided academic knowledge, but also opened up insights into the world of technology which was very useful for his career. And the most important thing for Henry is the willingness to keep learning and trying because he believes that the results will never betray the efforts that have been made.
My experience in university life was positive. I gained both practical experience and insight into the theories underpinning Information Systems. The lessons I learnt help me built a sturdier foundation on my knowledge regarding Computer Science. Studying in UPH has improved my social engagement skills and encourage me in leading the team as well as building a perfect teamwork. Knowledge is important but a positive attitude will lead us to be a successful individual. On top of that, UPH continuously gives moral support to their students so that we will never feel discouraged. I strongly believe that the extraordinary people in UPH have transformed me to be a better person mentally, spiritually and physically.
